I went to the Global Citizen's Center conference last night at 1035 Market. I don't know if that was the name of it but they were the sponsors. They're trying to get a central space where all these socially minded folks can work together and get the chimney of synergy steaming. It was a really cool event and I met some great folks without the pretentiousness that sometimes underlies conference folks. I'm gonna enter the seventh generation essay contest on corporate social responsibility and talking to these folks last night afforded me the opportunity to bounce my ideas off them and see how the more experienced industry folks react.
I even got a chance to freestyle on the mic with a couple of people that host an open mic in the space on sundays!! Now I have a retirement dinner, a houseboat party and social responsible conference under my freestyle belt. Hardly street credibility but something to write mom about.
